Birmingham event photography – The Show: Ten at Bullring
On Saturday I watched the 5pm run of the Show: Ten at Bullring on Saturday. Part of Style Birmingham Live, the fashion spectacular was designed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Bullring and was hosted by Mollie King from the Saturdays. Ten models in ten scenes showcased on the catwalk some of the top trends of the autumn-winter 2013 collections, all available for purchase from the shopping centre.
Hair was by Umberto Giannini and makeup by Illamasqua, both from Selfridges. For once, high street did not parrot haute couture – and models were not over-styled but looked quite fresh, relaxed and natural. The clothes were imminently wearable. I loved the green tones of the runway set – it’s my favourite colour this season. It worked well with psychodelic light projections on the back of the stage. Blue-green swirls, camouflage, polka dot and other designs changed in succession as new style trends/scenes were introduced. All in all, the show was a success!
I’ll summarise this season’s key trends as presented by the show organisers, scene by scene, below.
Another stop on the Glasgow Mural Trail as I revisit the Clutha to admire Rogue One’s Charles Rennie Mackintosh mural looming over the back garden of the bar.
