And so our second Scottish winter in Dumfries ends today. A couple of snow showers after weeks of regional snow alerts (haha!), a couple of frosty days, some spectacular sunsets and a by now predictable flooding of the river Nith – amidst weeks and weeks of mild and rainy weather.

To mark the last winter day I’ll post a few macro images from Kingholm Quay and Crichton that celebrate a brief cold spell in Dumfries that satisfied (just!) my craving for proper frost and snow.
