Most of my street photography in Dumfries is an urban location recce in some form or another. I collect these places patiently through my camera viewfinder and let them fill up the virtual memory cells of my brain. Then I wander back at various times of the day checking on the light as the sun rays skim the grungy walls and shy away from the deep recesses of staircases and arches. I watch how new graffiti appear on the doors as teenagers does not like blank voids (apparently). And then I wait for a perfect portrait subject…
