Dumfries Youth Theatre prepared a delightful outdoor interactive family play for Portrack House Open Day. Four cosmic faeries returned from the Moon and, attracted by the vast landscape garden in Nithsdale countryside near Dumfries, decided to investigate further.
The theatre gave three matinee performances at the woodland fairy ring formed by Devil’s Teeth and Moss Mound in the Garden of Cosmic Speculation. The winged faeries entertained little humans with quizzes, singing and dancing. In-between the shows the young actors shared their magic with the Open Day visitors. Round and round they went enchanting the people and organically engaging with water features, spiral landforms and terraces designed by Charles Jencks.
