Birmingham Street Style Project – Mr N

I’ll call him Mr N – I forgot to ask his name as it was my first Birmingham Street Style Project foray into Bullring without John who is very good at motivating people to participate and who usually writes down all their information.

For me Mr N personifies an urban smart/casual weekend look, from his beard to the way he pairs various elements in his outfit. This season  marks a return of the beard on catwalk, in fashion magazines and look books. Many celebrities spot it too. Mr N’s beard makes him appear relaxed but groomed.

The thing that fascinates me about street style is how creative people are in picking and recombining trendy items to suit their personalities.  For example, this season favourite contrast sleeve bomber jacket is presented in Asos catalogue paired with a dark casual T-shirt, worn jeans and a knitted hat. Mr N also wears it in a quite casual way, with dark indigo slim jeans and trainers. However he combines it with another trend, an off white small pattern print shirt, here featuring a subtle paisley print. This updates his entire outfit modality to smart casual, in line with his personal style.

I also hoped that with the…
