I was standing outside Bullring with my camera hunting for stylish men for my Birmingham Street Style Project and collaboration with The Rakish Gent. Suddenly in the sea of conservative blacks and greys a bright patch caught my eye and I followed it like a magpie. It was Braden in his red tartan scarf and trendy tartan trousers.
I love this look – short black jacket, tartan trousers, casual trainers with a red accent colour, skull vest and fingerless gloves. Top Man recently named it Street Grunge and announced it the autumn/winter 2013-14 latest trend.
The layers of plain colour and prints produce a very graphic effect. The hair and tattoo lends a sense of authenticity, and the vest – a Gothic touch. Skull print tank tops, T-shirts and vests in general are so big this season! I think they give more edge to the overall look than the Top Man style version.
