Once again Big Burns Supper festival opened the doors of Spiegeltent to Le Haggis 2019, its signature best-selling cabaret show.
This year’s VI edition was full of amusingly bawdy banter, electrifying Celtic anthems, breathtaking roller skaters’ stunts, spectacular aerial acrobatics and male (for a change!) burlesque dancer duo. The audiences were invited to remain suitably irreverent too!
It was the fifth Le Haggis performance I photographed as a volunteer, and every time I was in awe of the show producers who managed yet again to preserve the cabaret spiciness and Celtic ribaldry of this unmissable Big Burns Supper staple, but come up with an entirely fresh selection of world class acts to fill the “old wine skins with new wine”.
