Playing Canva, an easy to use free online design service for creating pinnable images for Pinterest, quotes, collages, web graphics and presentations. It’s still in Beta and requires invitation, which you can reserve on their website. I’ve got 5 invites to share as well – if you are interested please get in touch.
Here’s the horizontal version of my Quote of the Day that I created in Canva yesterday.
It’s an alternative to the vertical version that I shared on Facebook (ha, embedding a post for the first time – would be interesting to see how it looks on the blog:
The basic design elements, such as background, most of the fonts and the Quote of the Day text container, are the same. However, I changed how the link to my website is presented using the chevron line and changed the quote font. Finally, everything was brought into focus by placing the quote onto a rounded-corner rectangle which I duplicated in orange as a faux shadow.
I sort of like the simplicity of the vertical version of this quote from my Facebook post, but the blog requires a horizontal one as a featured image…
Which version do you like better – vertical or horizontal?
