Street entertainment photography is an interesting sub-genre of event photography. Not only it involves capturing the stunts themselves, but also documenting audience reactions and the very space in which the show takes place.
Known for his particular brand of magic, Murray the Magician brought the world of illusion to the streets of Dumfries. He demonstrated mind reading, sleight of hand and card tricks and his signature shock magic for the crowd of kids and their parents. Some stunts appeared quite dangerous and caused a few gasps from youngsters. These included piercing his tongue with a knitting needle, setting a pack of cards on fire, or cutting a rose in Fearchara’s mouth with a sharp razor while being blindfolded, only guided by a bell ring sound.
