I needed an updated photo of myself for my website and my mother was nagging me to email her some new images as well. Photographers are often the ones that end up behind the camera, not in front of it, but, as I am not into selfies and follow Sue Bryce’s message to #existinphotos I asked my husband to come out to our local green just around the corner for fifteen minutes to take some snaps of me.
I had a chance to experience what my portrait clients felt when a big black camera was pointed at them – I completely forgot how awkward the process might feel at the beginning and how important it is to ease into a photo session.
OK, we did it! Now I must brace myself to do it again at least once a year…
